First impressions are perhaps the most important part of any job application. It is as important for both the job applicant and job interviewer. First impressions start from the very first contact with your cover letter and CV/resume.

Appling For The Job...

Be sure to have a short yet informative and snappy CV for which to send to any job application. Make sure all contact details are correct and you have presented your work in a clean and easy to understand and read format. Ask yourself this question, when in a pile of other CV's, will yours jump out? If not, you need some work. Why not try the below template, as designed by a national manager for a £multi-million company, which has been praised by high level management and jobs agencies for it's clean and crisp design.

The Interview...

Well done, you got the interview, perhaps the hardest part of the job process is over and they like what they have read, now is the time to back that up! The first thing to do before any job interview is to research the company you are applying for. Find out about there history, there aims, key facts and figures about them and prepare some answers for possible questions. Take time on this and show an interest in the company.
Be sure to smile and give a firm handshake upon seeing your potential employer for the first time and dress smart, no matter the job. Each interview varies from place to place but you have to remember that they are looking for the best candidate for the job and if you have prepared, want the job and think for a short time before each answer, you will be in with a better chance of getting that perfect job. Always remebr to ask questions about the job, the company and the team and at the end of the interview, ask if there is anything you did not cover and if there is anything they were not happy with about you. This shows you are willing to improve and learn and they will respect you more. It also gives you the chance of a comeback that will quash there concerns.

Good Luck with your job application process and remember, you will never be offered all jobs you apply for so keep trying.
